Lunar Geology is the study of the moons crust, rocks, strata, etc. Lunar Geology tends to cover two broad areas of study; Maria (and/or Basins) and Highlands.The two major lunar geologic disciplines are Geochemistry and Geophysics.

Geochemistry is the study of the sources, migrations, and current resting places of individual chemical elements.

Geophysics is the study of densities, temperatures, and depths of boundries of a planet's crust, mantle, and core.
